Book 2: المقدمة في أصول الحديث Author: Shaykh Abdul Haq Muhaddith Dehlvi(No relation to Shah Waliullah) Subject: Usul al Hadith This book is an introduction to the science of hadith methodology dealing with the technical nomenclature and the rules/principles associated with them. It is taught in the Dars e Nizami Syllabus in many places before Nukhbat al Fikr/Nuzhat an Nazar of Shaykh Ibn Hajar Asqalani. The author is held in high esteem by all sunni claimants of the subcontinent and is seen as a great muhadith due to his relied upon commentaries on Mishkat al Masabih. This specific edition is of the Madinah tul Ilmiyyah edition which comes with extremely detailed footnotes, charts/diagrams and an appendix by Shaykh Muhammad bin Alawi al Maliki about some major books of hadith and their authors. This is different to its previous edition which had a different Hashiya and appendix suited for the beginner in a question and answer format.
