# Aqlam (أقلام)

Aqlam is an independent Islamic digital library and electronic publishing platform at https://aqlam.io

It is not a mirror of the Internet Archive, Shamela, or Hindawi.

## What Aqlam is

- A searchable catalogue of Arabic and Islamic books: cover, title, author, and a short description on each public book page.
- Hosting of files only when the work is public-domain / heritage, uploaded by the author, or explicitly permitted for free distribution.
- Scholar pages at /scholar/{slug} for one person record (ʿālim, shaykh, walī are not split).
- Lessons, questions/fatwa catalogue records, and study paths as listed on the site.

## What Aqlam is not

- A pirate dump. Copyrighted files without permission are not hosted. Those titles may still have a catalogue card.
- A fatwa engine. Overviews (talkhis) appear only when an editor has published stored text. The model does not invent a talkhis or a sanad.
