Dr. Munjid Muḥammad Riḍwān Abū Bakr's thesis on the sources of Bukhārī's Kitāb al-Tafsīr, specifically in regards to the gharāʾib al-alfāẓ of the Quran. Though detailed in its study, Dr. Munjid's reading of Bukhārī's Kitāb al-Tafsīr, namely, in its function as a reference and source for future tafāsīr, is less than charitable, and brands the linguistic study of Bukhārī's largest chapter largely useless.
