About Aqlam

We are not a web scraper. Aqlam is an independent digital library and electronic publishing platform.

Books come from three primary sources. What is uploaded with permission is stored on our servers. What has no permission is not pirated.

Where the books come from

Public domain and heritage

We upload old, forgotten, and historical books by hand to preserve Arab and Islamic heritage.

Direct author uploads

Self-publishing: any author can create a free account and upload their own books.

Permitted books

Modern books whose authors or houses have explicitly agreed to free distribution.

We are not an Internet Archive mirror. A large share of the library should be unique: author and researcher uploads. Text sources · Read the publishing model

Where files are stored

For free, permitted, heritage, and author-owned books: the file lives on Aqlam servers. Download comes from there.

For a strictly copyrighted book without permission: an external download or shop link if it exists. Otherwise cover, title, and a short description only — a catalogue card, not a file.

Every searchable book has a page here: cover and description, even if it is not for sale and not available to download.

Free / for sale / unavailable tags still apply. Unavailable means we have no legal file here, not that the work is removed from search.

Core: verified school, works, and digital content. Digital: large archive, school still under review. Legacy: books taught today. Institutional: a teaching programme. Pending: no school stamp yet.

Rights and takedown

Aqlam catalogues titles, metadata, and public source links for review. We do not claim ownership of files that remain at their source. Upon a valid, substantiated rights claim we remove the link or page promptly. To request removal, use the contribute form or contact the editors.
